The Blue Hole is a unique geologic phenomenon for the Southwest. It’s an eighty-one foot deep artesian spring, bell shaped with a constant temperature of 61 degrees. The spring pumps up to 3,000 gallons of water per minute. This unique feature attracts scuba divers year round and led to Santa Rosa’s nickname of “The Scuba Diving Capital of the Southwest”. Diving the Blue Hole requires the purchase of a $20 SCUBA Permit good for one week.
